DIRECTION GENERALE DE L'ARMEMENT - AGENCE DE L'INNOVATION DE DEFENSE
Description
As a unique entity within the government, the Armament General Directorate, established by General de Gaulle in 1961, has enabled France to rank among the world’s leading nations in terms of defense technology mastery, complex project management, cooperation and exports. It thus allows the Nation to maintain a complete military model, grounded in a commitment to sovereignty and autonomy.
The Defense Innovation Agency unites the Ministry’s innovation initiatives, ensuring coordination and coherence across all kinds of innovation. While pursuing long-term technological innovation, the Agency also identifies and harnesses opportunistic innovations for the benefit of all end-users, across all sectors: operations, equipment, support, day-to-day operations and administration.
The Defense Innovation Agency closely monitors developments made by French New Space startups and supports their growth through innovation projects aimed at fostering disruptive technologies. In doing so, it contributes to the emergence of a national dual-use New Space sector capable of both meeting sovereignty requirements and serving export markets.
